NDLEA Busts Drug Smugglers: Cocaine in Body Creams

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has made significant strides in combating drug trafficking, recently uncovering a substantial quantity of cocaine that was cleverly concealed within body cream containers destined for the United Kingdom. In a separate operation, the agency also discovered methamphetamine hidden inside a water heater, showcasing the lengths to which traffickers will go to smuggle illegal substances.

During a well-coordinated raid at Proxy Night Club, located in the bustling Victoria Island area of Lagos, NDLEA operatives arrested over 100 individuals, including the notorious club owner, Pretty Mike, who has been a figure of interest in the nightlife scene. This operation highlights the agency’s commitment to tackling drug-related activities in entertainment venues.

At the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos, NDLEA operatives intercepted an impressive 70 parcels of cocaine, which collectively weighed 3.6 kilograms. Meanwhile, at Enugu Airport, a national from Lesotho was apprehended while attempting to export methamphetamine to the Philippines, further illustrating the international dimensions of drug trafficking.

In Kwara State, officers made a significant discovery of 21,950 tramadol capsules cleverly hidden inside a water heater. Additionally, in Taraba State, a staggering 450,000 pills of tramadol and exol-5 were seized, indicating a serious issue with the distribution of these substances.

The agency has also confirmed further seizures of illicit drugs across various states, including Kogi, Nasarawa, and Lagos. The NDLEA continues to work diligently to disrupt these networks and ensure public safety.
