Tinubu Departs Lagos for Europe Ahead of Abu Dhabi Summit

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Sunday departed Lagos for Europe to continue his end-of-year vacation ahead of an official engagement in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

 

The development was disclosed in a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga.

According to the statement, President Tinubu will travel from Europe to Abu Dhabi at the invitation of the UAE President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to participate in the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week Summit (ADSW 2026), scheduled to take place in January.

 

The Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week is an annual global summit that convenes leaders from government, business and civil society to discuss and advance strategies for sustainable development.

 

This year’s edition, themed “The Nexus of Next: All Systems Go,” will focus on translating ambition into concrete actions across innovation, finance and human capital, while promoting practical solutions to global sustainability challenges.

 

President Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria after the conclusion of the summit.
