Nigeria is set to host the 10th anniversary of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Africa Conference on International Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), scheduled to take place in Lagos from June 3 to 5, 2026.
The organisers announced that the conference will bring together delegates and speakers from across the globe, with strong participation expected from African countries. The event is regarded as one of the continent’s flagship platforms for discussing developments in international arbitration and ADR.
In a statement, the ICC described the conference as a key forum for lawyers, arbitrators, judges, policymakers, and other stakeholders to exchange ideas on emerging trends and challenges in dispute resolution.
Chair of the Arbitration and ADR Commission of ICC Nigeria, Prof. Dorothy Ufot, SAN, said the conference is designed to unite leading experts in international arbitration and ADR from Africa and beyond.
She expressed excitement over Nigeria’s selection as host, noting that the 10th anniversary edition promises to be a landmark event for the continent. According to her, the conference will provide a unique opportunity for participants to engage with leading practitioners and thought leaders, while addressing current issues shaping arbitration and ADR in Africa.
Prof. Ufot added that the event will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions, and interactive sessions. She noted that the conference is targeted at a broad audience, including legal practitioners, judges, policymakers, and students from universities across Africa.
Nigeria’s hosting of the conference is expected to further strengthen its position as a hub for international arbitration and dispute resolution in Africa.
