3 Suspected Child Traffickers Arrested, 17 Children Rescued in Kaduna

The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested three suspected child traffickers and rescued 17 children in Zaria.

Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, disclosed this in a statement released on Friday. He said the children, who are of various ages, were allegedly being prepared for transportation to Abuja and other parts of the country.

According to the statement, detectives from the Danmagaji Division acted on credible intelligence around 4:00 p.m. on November 12, 2025, concerning the suspicious movement of children under the Danmagaji Flyover in Zaria. The swift response of officers led to the rescue of the minors.

The suspects arrested were identified as Musa Shuaibu, 21, from Funtua in Katsina State; Sani Mamman, 23, from Ingawa in Katsina State; and Mubarak Ismail, 20, from Unguwa Uku in Kano State.

DSP Hassan noted that the suspects confessed during interrogation to bringing the children from different locations and were preparing to transport them to Abuja and other destinations before the police intervened.

He added that all the children are in good health and currently under the care of the police. Efforts are ongoing to locate their parents and guardians and reunite the minors with their families.
