Fubara’s Insight on Emergency Rule Necessity

Taofiq Raimi, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), stated that Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has recognized the existence of a significant political crisis that resulted in a six-month state of emergency in the region.

Raimi shared this insight on Friday during an interview on ‘Prime Time’, a show aired on Arise Television.

“This clarifies the debate regarding whether a crisis existed at all.

“The governor pointed out three key figures involved in the crisis: his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, who is now the Minister of the FCT, and he referred to him as ‘our leader’, which is quite commendable.

“He also indicated that he himself is part of the crisis, along with the State Assembly. After recognizing the contributions of these individuals, he acknowledged that the president acted wisely as a father figure to facilitate and negotiate a peaceful resolution.

“The final point he made was that peace has been restored, and they will now concentrate on continuing democratic governance and exploring avenues for the development of their state,” Raimi remarked.
