Cardi B’s latest album, “Am I The Drama?”, is sparking considerable discussion on social media for various reasons. However, how is this buzz affecting sales figures?
While Cardi B is currently facing some relationship rumors, the paternity lawsuit involving Stefon Diggs does not overshadow her new album, Am I The Drama? The numerous tracks, narratives, messages, and styles within the album have generated significant media conversation, and we now have a clearer understanding of how this excitement may impact the album’s sales in its first week.
As reported by HITS Daily Double, the streaming performance of the LP on Friday indicates that it could achieve between 125,000 and 150,000 album-equivalent units sold during its debut week. They anticipate that the record could easily reach 100 million streams within a week, which has contributed to this sales forecast. Nevertheless, there are some uncertainties surrounding these figures.
For the Bronx sensation, these projections may seem somewhat modest; however, the publication noted that “information is limited.” Therefore, it is possible that these estimates do not include pure sales, and the report suggests that the projection is primarily based on streaming data. As discussions regarding these figures continue to unfold on social media, we will gain a clearer perspective as we approach the end of the week.

In a different context, Cardi B is standing up for her dedication to this new album, responding to Joe Budden’s claim that she did not compose the lyrics for her track that criticizes JT, titled “Magnet.” “Whoever wrote it?? Nah that’s CARDI,” she stated on Twitter. “This is my process… I’m a natural roaster and you already know I’m quick with the mouth so I’ll be coming up with lines and I’ll record myself then lay it later. Don’t give me backhanded 10’s cuz I’ll always be able to prove my s**t.” The tweet included an old audio recording of Cardi developing the flow and teasing some of the lyrics.
Interestingly, that audio appears to be from the same day that the former City Girl released her City Cinderella project, which some fans speculated included jabs at her. The conflict between Cardi B and JT may persist, but we will observe its progression.
Regardless, the initial week sales forecasts indicate a robust debut, irrespective of the actual figures. We will determine just how substantial it ultimately becomes.
