Nigerian Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has placed a $50,000 wager on the Super Eagles ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations semi-final match against Morocco on Wednesday.

The ‘Timeless’ crooner shared a betting slip via his Instagram page on Wednesday, showing his confidence in Nigeria’s performance against the Atlas Lions in Wednesday crucial encounter scheduled for 9pm Nigerian time

He wrote, “Nigeria to make the finals and I’ll double my stake on my slip…. 💰 #stake”

The bet, placed on popular betting platform Stake, shows Davido backing a combination of outcomes including both teams to score and the Asian total over 1.5 goals, with attractive odds of 6.97.

If the predictions come to pass, the Grammy-nominated artiste reportedly stands to win an estimated payout of $348,274.07 (approximately ₦500 million at current exchange rates).

Nigeria last won the Africa Cup of Nations in 2013, and the Super Eagles will be hoping to overcome a formidable Moroccan side that has been one of the tournament’s standout performers.

PUNCH Online reports that the DMW Records boss had reportedly earned a payout of $96,564 (approximately N150 million) for predicting the outcome of Nigeria’s opening match at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, having staked a wager on the Super Eagles’ Group C encounter against Tanzania in Fes, Morocco, predicting that both teams would score in the fixtures.
