Terrorists have abducted an unspecified number of students from St. Mary’s Catholic School in the Papiri community, Agwara Local Government Area of Niger State.
The attack occurred in the early hours of today, at about 2:00 a.m., when armed men stormed the school and took several pupils away.
Confirming the incident, the Secretary to the Niger State Government, Alhaji Abubakar Usman, said authorities are still trying to determine how many students were abducted.
The Niger State Commissioner of Police, Adamu Abdullahi Ellema, also confirmed the development. He said police tactical units, military forces, and other security agencies have been deployed to the area.
Security operations are ongoing, and further details are expected as the situation unfolds.
