The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed satisfaction with the ruling of the Oyo State High Court, which granted the party permission to continue preparations for its national convention scheduled for November 15 and 16, 2025.
The ruling comes after a Federal High Court had earlier issued an order restraining the party from holding the convention.
In a statement issued by party elders, the PDP said it welcomed the court’s decision, describing it as one that reflects fairness and justice.
Senator Umar Tsauri, a member of the Board of Trustees.
Everyone now knows that this ruling is fair and just, because the Supreme Court has previously stated that issues of party leadership are internal matters, not for the courts to decide.
If the Court of Appeal asks us to suspend the convention, we will comply. But unless that happens, we will continue with our preparations as planned.”
Senator Tsauri reaffirmed that the PDP is a law-abiding party and is fully prepared to hold its national convention on the scheduled dates.
