The Wife of Samuel Nasamu, who is the pastor of the Word of God Church located in Agyaragu within the Obi local government area of Nasarawa State, Mrs. Patience Nasamu, has been taken hostage.

Also taken along with Mrs. Nasamu was a female church member who was visiting her.

The attackers, however, left the pastor’s three-month-old infant unharmed during this incident, which has left the entire community in a state of turmoil.
Reports indicate that gunmen invaded the pastor’s home around 8:15 pm on Sunday, compelling the wife to allow them entry by firing shots into the air.
Pastor Nasamu confirmed the occurrence to reporters, stating that the assailants tried to force their way into the house by breaking the windows and doors with a hammer, but they were unable to breach the protective barriers.

He mentioned that the incident took place right after the church service when he went outside to pray for a sick member of the congregation.

The cleric further explained that his wife was so distressed that she struggled to convey what was happening when she finally managed to call him.

“I had just gone out to pray for a sick member when my wife called. All I could hear was her praying; she was unable to explain what was going on. By the time I hurried back, both she and our guest had been taken, leaving our baby behind,” he recounted.

He stated that officers from the Nasarawa State Police Command have come to the scene to evaluate the situation.

However, he noted that the kidnappers have not contacted family members to ask for a ransom.
