President Bola Tinubu has granted automatic employment to the four children of Dr. Grace Adayilo, the late Head of the Civil Service of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), who recently passed away.
The announcement was made by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike on Saturday during Adayilo’s funeral service, which took place at the National Ecumenical Centre in Abuja.
The solemn event attracted high-ranking government officials, civil servants, family members, and friends who gathered to pay tribute to her legacy.
Describing her death as a “painful loss,” Wike praised Adayilo as a dedicated, humble, and industrious public servant whose contributions to the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) will be remembered.
“On behalf of the FCT Administration and Mr. President, I extend our heartfelt condolences to her family.
“The President has directed that her four children be granted automatic employment, recognizing that the family has lost its primary provider,” Wike remarked.
He further acknowledged Adayilo’s outstanding service, noting her efforts in ensuring timely payment of employees’ salaries and benefits, as well as her role as a respected community mobilizer.
Wike urged Nigerians to follow her example of commitment, stressing that the unpredictability of life necessitates serving both God and humanity with sincerity.
During the service, Grace Adayilo was honored as a selfless leader and maternal figure, celebrated by colleagues and loved ones for her inspiring career and dedication to the welfare of others.
