Kano Assembly denies impeachment move against deputy governor

Lawmakers dismiss reports as false, misleading

The Kano State House of Assembly has denied reports of an alleged move to impeach Deputy Governor Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, describing the claims as unfounded.

The spokesperson to the Speaker, Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai, said there is no discussion or motion before the Assembly seeking the removal of the deputy governor.

He warned that the reports could create unnecessary political tension and urged the public and media organisations to verify information before publication.

Shawai added that the Assembly remains focused on its constitutional duties, including lawmaking and oversight, rather than political speculation.
