Six Nigerian scholars have distinguished themselves in the International Best Reviewer Awards organised by the International Journal of Scientific Research and Modern Technology (IJSRMT). The journal is one of the most reputable global platforms for high-quality research, and it is indexed in Google Scholar, Crossref, PlumX Metrics and ResearchGate.

This year’s awards focus on recognising experts who have demonstrated excellence, integrity and commitment in peer review — a crucial process that upholds the quality and credibility of global research.

One of the standout recipients is Onuh Ijiga, an environmental physicist from the Department of Physics, Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Makurdi. He won the Overall Best Reviewer Award — June 2025. Ijiga has spent over a decade conducting research in renewable energy, environmental science, industrial physics and cybersecurity.
He said:Peer review is the backbone of credible research. This recognition strengthens my commitment to contributing to global knowledge.

Similarly, Uchenna Ogbuonyalu won the Most Constructive Feedback Award — March 2025. She has extensive professional experience with top global institutions such as Goldman Sachs, Deloitte UK and PwC, working in financial risk and governance.
She noted that a rigorous peer-review process protects markets and enhances trust in the global financial ecosystem. My goal is to help emerging-market research meet international standards.

Another distinguished Nigerian is Kehinde Abiodun, who also earned the Overall Best Reviewer Award — March 2025. A Nigerian-British professional at Evercore, New York, he has built a reputation in digital-infrastructure investment and AI-driven financial modelling.
According to him, “peer review sharpens innovation and ensures responsible technological development.

In the June cycle, Esther Alaka, a staff member at JPMorgan Chase, was named Most Active Reviewer — June 2025. She applies machine learning to financial-risk analytics and transparency systems.
She said: “Integrity and clarity are fundamental to all research. This award motivates me to continue contributing meaningfully.

Opeoluwa Judo was also recognised with the Precision and Clarity in Peer Review Award — June 2025. Her research explores animal nutrition and poultry growth, particularly the effects of Moringa oleifera on intestinal health and broiler development.
She explained: “Clarity in peer review helps authors refine their work and supports better agricultural and food-science outcomes.

The Editor-in-Chief of IJSRMT commended the Nigerian recipients for their exceptional contributions, stating that Nigeria continues to produce brilliant minds who elevate global research standards.
