Rivers United off to Congo today for FC Les Aigles clash

Rivers United will depart for DR Congo on Thursday (today) for the first leg of their CAF Champions League preliminary round clash against FC Les Aigles du Congo.

 

The players and officials will leave for Kinshasa via the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, aboard an Ethiopia Airline.

The contingent arrived Lagos on Wednesday from Port Harcourt to connect a direct flight to their destination.

The encounter is billed for the Stade des Martyrs, Kinshasa on Saturday, 20 September.

Rivers United last played in the Champions league in 2023.

They crashed out in the second round of the competition.
