Troops Kill Bandit, Recover Weapons in Benue

Troops of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have killed one armed bandit and recovered a large cache of weapons in Mbagen community, Ukum Local Government Area, Benue State. The raid took place on Tuesday when soldiers launched an operation on the hideout of a notorious bandit, with support from the air component.

The troops came under fire from the criminals, sparking a fierce exchange of gunfire. Authorities recovered several weapons, including two AK-47 rifles, one G3 rifle, 36 grenades, two radios, and a motorcycle believed to have been used in criminal activities.

The Force Commander, Major General Moses Gara, commended the troops for their bravery and professionalism during the operation.
