Niger Delta ex-agitator and self-styled General Endurance Amagbein has congratulated the Federal Government and Nigerians on the New Year, urging citizens to remain hopeful and committed to the promotion of peace, unity and security across the country in 2026.
In a New Year message issued to journalists in Abuja, Amagbein said there was no limit to what Nigerians could achieve if they believed in themselves and worked together for the common good. He described the New Year as another opportunity for both leaders and citizens to support one another despite the challenges confronting the nation.
He sent special greetings to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the leadership of the National Assembly, commending them for their wisdom and resilience in keeping the country united in the face of daunting socio-economic and security challenges.
According to him, the New Year presents a renewed chance for Nigerians to recommit themselves to ideals and actions that foster peace, national cohesion and development.
Amagbein also congratulated the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede; the Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (retd); the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Adeola Ajayi; and other service chiefs for what he described as their selfless service and dedication to defending Nigeria’s sovereignty.
He prayed God to grant them strength, wisdom and protection to do even more in safeguarding the country in the year ahead.
Fondly known as Adaka Boro the Second, Amagbein extended his goodwill messages to the Commanding Officers of 5 Battalion, Elele, Port Harcourt; 16 Brigade, Yenagoa; the DSS Director in Bayelsa State; the Central Naval Command Headquarters, Yenagoa; and the Joint Task Force (JTF) Operation Delta Safe, for their roles in maintaining peace and securing lives and property in the Niger Delta.
He also sent his New Year wishes to the government and people of Bayelsa State under Governor Douye Diri, praying that 2026 would be favourable to all residents of the state.
Amagbein advised Nigerians to shun acts capable of undermining peace and unity, stressing that 2026 should be a year of conscious efforts towards making life easier, better and more meaningful for one another.
He further urged citizens to remain security conscious and to support the armed forces and other security agencies in the fight against insecurity in their communities.
The former agitator reiterated his support for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying that such backing was necessary to enable the government to deliver more dividends of democracy to Nigerians.
He also prayed for divine protection for military personnel and other security operatives serving the nation, describing their sacrifices as critical to Nigeria’s stability and progress.
