Nwabundo Alayande Launches Her Book “Loud Whispers” in Lagos

The official launch of “Loud Whispers”, a book written by renowned filmmaker and writer Nwabundo Alayande, was held at the OUIDA Bookstore in Ikeja, Lagos.

The 97-page anthology captures the hidden emotions and untold stories people experience in their daily lives, particularly within the bustling city of Lagos.

Speaking at the event, Alayande noted that many people face silent struggles that often go unnoticed because few truly listen.

Prominent journalist Funke-Treasure Akintoye praised the book for its beautiful writing style, rich emotional depth, and insightful lessons, describing Alayande’s storytelling as a blend of artistry, empathy, and wisdom.

Also speaking, Olakunle Kasumu, a well-known television presenter, commended the author for her touching and relatable narratives, while calling for greater efforts to revive Nigeria’s reading culture, especially among children.

The book launch was attended by theatre practitioners, media professionals, and literary enthusiasts from across the country.
