‘Release Civilian Hostages Now Without Conditions’, Sheikh Gumi Tells Hamas

A prominent Islamic cleric based in Kaduna, Sheikh Ahmad Abubakar Gumi, has urged the Palestinian Islamist organization, Hamas, to release all Israeli civilian hostages unconditionally.

Sheikh Gumi expressed this sentiment on his verified Facebook account on Saturday, asserting that it was a significant error for Hamas to have taken hostages in the first instance.

The cleric further stated that Hamas should strategize anew to reclaim their ancestral land through what he referred to as ‘clean force’.

Sheikh Gumi appeared to be responding to Hamas’s willingness to release Israeli hostages, following a ceasefire initiative brokered by United States President Donald Trump, who also called for Israel to halt its bombardment of Gaza immediately.
